Our Story

It started with a lost dog in the rain.

PawMarked began on a gray, rainy afternoon here in Portland, Oregon.

Our founder, Emily, was rushing out the door when she realized the backyard gate was open. Her rescue dog, a golden mix named Milo, was gone.

Panic set in. She spent two hours searching the neighborhood in the pouring rain. When she finally found him shivering under a neighbor's porch, the cheap metal tag on his collar was gone—the flimsy ring had snapped off somewhere in the brush.

That night, holding a wet and frightened Milo, Emily realized something: A pet ID tag isn't just an accessory. It's a ticket home.

The Problem with "Standard" Tags

We looked at what was available in pet stores and saw the same problems everywhere:

  • Thin aluminum that bends easily.
  • Engraving that fades within months.
  • Noisy "jingle-jangle" that annoys dogs (and owners!).
  • Generic designs that lack soul.

Milo deserved better. Your dog deserves better.

Designed for Real Life

We went back to the drawing board to create a tag that could survive mud, rain, and rough play, while looking beautiful enough to wear every day.

Why PawMarked is different:

  • Silent & Durable: We use thick, jewelry-grade metals and silicone silencers to keep things quiet.
  • Deep Engraving: Our information isn't just scratched on the surface; it's deeply etched so it never rubs off.
  • Handcrafted in Portland: Every tag is hand-stamped and finished in our small workshop, not mass-produced in a factory.

Our Promise

We exist to give you peace of mind. Whether you're hiking the trails or just walking around the block, you should know that if the unexpected happens, your best friend can be identified immediately.

Welcome to the family.
